San Francisco’s home market has been sizzling hot for the past few years. However, as with many markets around the nation, San Francisco’s market is starting to normalize due to the interest rate increase. In a much more normal market, buyers likely won’t flock to your home, ready to buy it at any cost. As San Fransisco’s real estate market slows, you will have to do more to ensure that your home catches the attention of potential buyers. So, if you need to sell a house fast in San Francisco, it is a good idea to incorporate some of these architectural features.

Colors For Homes in San Francisco

If you want to lure buyers to your doorstep, one way is to make sure that you get with the times and paint your house a trending color. Traditionally, San Francisco homes have been known for their bold colors, especially on their “painted ladies.” You can continue this trend by putting a fresh coat of paint in a similar shade on your home. Or you can change colors altogether. Many of the bright-colored homes in San Francisco are turning gray. So, if you want to jump on the gray bandwagon, you can do so. Just be sure to choose a gray that is flattering for your home.

Chef’s Kitchens

Another popular architectural feature that buyers want is chef kitchens. These kitchens have everything a professional chef could ever want and need. So, if you wish to appeal to buyers, you can start by removing outdated appliances and replacing them with stainless steel ones. Having large appliances such as large stoves, dishwashers, and refrigerators is also a good idea. A large sink or two is also a must.

Hardwood Floors

Hardwood floors are another popular feature in homes in San Francisco. Buyers want hardwood floors, and they prefer authentic ones to engineered ones. It may be a good idea to stick with lighter shades rather than darker ones to compliment some of the bright, beautiful colors in homes in San Francisco.

Functional Outdoor Spaces

You may have trouble attracting interested buyers if your backyard is nothing more than grass and a concrete block. Nowadays, buyers in San Francisco want highly functional outdoor spaces for entertaining. Therefore, you may have to work with a landscaping company to spruce up your hardscapes. You should consider architectural features such as beautiful pathways, firepits, wet bars, and kitchens with top-quality natural stone.

Accessory Dwelling Units

Accessory dwelling units are one more popular architectural feature you may want to incorporate on your property if you have the space. These are cottages added to your property that allow you to provide a space for a family member or make additional money from renting the property. If you add such a unit, ensure you get the proper permits for this property.

Before you start hiring professionals to transform your house into something you think buyers may want, it is a good idea to speak with your real estate agent. A top agent in San Francisco can tell you what types of features are trending currently in the market. This will keep you from making unnecessary updates to your home to try to sell it. Hiring a local interior designer to help you incorporate these architectural changes within and outside your home may also be a good idea.
